1. Arlington has established a goal for students in grades 3-6 in Reading. The school has determined that 87.5% of students in ISTEP+ tested grades will score at or above the state standard for English/language arts. 2. Arlington has established a goal for students in grades 3-6 in Mathematics. The school has determined that 87.5% of students in ISTEP+ tested grades will score at or above the state standard for Mathematics. 3. Arlington has established a goal for students in grades 3-6 in Writing. The school has determined that 87.5% of students in ISTEP+ tested grades will score at or above the state standard for Writing applications. In order to achieve the goals set by the school and its community, the school will emphasize reading and literacy skills for students in all grades. Additionally, math concepts will include a strong experiential program. Writing will be refined through daily practice. Goal strategies will include early intervention to support the school’s youngest learners, differentiated instruction to ensure that students with differing levels of readiness and abilities are served with appropriate materials, and the use of assessments to guide instruction decisions. Additionally, the school will emphasize daily attendance at school to provide students with new learning, opportunities to apply and practice learned concepts. Parents play a great role in helping students gain academic knowledge and skills. Parents can participate in learning projects and attend information meetings during the school year.
